Rentz Gullick came through his surgery very well Tuesday. He is home and in good spirits today.
Jeff Gallagher is recovering from his surgery, although he has had a little setback with some infection in the incision.
Please keep Rentz, Jeff, and other sick in your prayers.

Marriage Matters
Adam Faughn, who preaches in Nashville, TN, does a great job with his blog. Recently, he offered a recommended reading list for newlyweds. I'm familiar with most of the books on Adam's list and add my thumbs up to them ... not just for newlyweds, but for anyone interested in making his or her marriage better. It's ideal for husbands and wives to read some of these books together. Here's a link to Adam's blog

Kenny Pearson to Speak Sunday
Scheduling was late so no earlier announcements were possible, but Kenny Pearson will be speaking for us Sunday morning, May 24. He will give an update about his prison ministry work, which has been partially supported by the Skagit Valley church for many years.

Ida, the Monkey (Does This Prove Evolution?)
You can't get away from news of the fantastic discovery of the "missing link." Even trying to do a Google search and you see the fossil. The word spreading like wildfire is that this discovering proves evolution to be true.
Not so fast. There is a great deal yet to be proven before these claims can be accepted. Here's a link to the Institute for Creation Research web site which gives their preliminary reaction to the news.

Attendance was way down today because we had many people out-of-town and did not have as many visitors as we had on recent Sundays. 71 were present, with only 3 visitors. Regular attenders absent today totaled 36, the highest number since we started keeping that statistic.
Your prayers are requested for Hazel Holden, Trish Gaines' mother, who is now staying with the Gaineses. Hazel has been a faithful Christian for many years, but she is suffering from rapidly-advancing Alzheimer's disease (which has resulted in drastic changes in her personality). Please remember Trish as well as she undertakes the trying job of being a caregiver for her mother.
Karla Williamson offered a card of praise that her parents arrived safely home after their visit to Karla and her family last week.
Karla also offered a card announcing that all ladies should bring a brunch item for Sunday May 31st during the Bible class hour. The ladies will meet to organize their new Ladies' Bible class and enjoy fellowship together. Please let Karla know if you would like the study book that the class will be using. It will cost $8.
Please continue to remember Rentz Gullick, who will have a procedure done for bladder cancer on Tuesday, May 26. Also remember Ruth Lake Wilkison who had an ingrown toenail removed Friday.
