Our Kitchen Needs Your Help

Do you have some extra dish rags and scrubbers? The kitchen is in need. Please donate any dish cloths and scrubbers (such as pot & pan scrubbers, Cello green or blue; Chore Boy, etc.). Feel free to pick up an extra dish towel also to donate if you can. Leave in the kitchen or give to Helen Brown.

September 20 Notes

Elijah Blunt had surgery on both eyes Friday morning and is at home recovering. He does have some pain and discomfort right now -- please keep him in your prayers this week.

Praise the Lord for all the safe travel for all who made the trip to and from Long Island, WA for the hunting trip. A fun time was had by all. (Candy Hobbs)

Praise that my mom, Jo Mackey, had a safe and uneventful trip home to Oklahoma yesterday. Please pray for our Andrew and his life choices. (Judy Hill)

Just a reminder that traffic may be heavy next Sunday traveling to and from Anacortes because of the Oyster Run motorcycle event there.

Karee Blunt will be presenting a Family Finance Seminar for Ladies called "Queen of My Castle" on October 24th. Please see the flyer on the bulletin board for more information.

Judy Fair needs to be shown our love and care while she goes through a stressful time. Visits or calls would be appreciated. The phone number is 757-8658.

Tonight

Amazing that it's the middle of another week, already. In a few days, summer will be officially over. Still we've been enjoying beautiful Washington weather the last few days and for that we're thankful.

Tonight is our regular midweek potluck at 6:00. Come with a covered dish and enjoy the food and fellowship. If you're rushed and can't bring anything, come on anyway. We're willing to share, and (almost) always have plenty.

The women will be watching another video tonight while the men have a Men's Meeting as we cotinue getting organized to continue our leadership as our elders are stepping down. Everyone has shown a wonderful attitude thus far, so we're confident that we'll weather this storm and become even stronger (with the Lord's help, of course).

See you this evening -- to eat at 6, with the devotional beginning at 6:45. Classes/meeting will start between 7 and 7:15.

Diana Singing

Imagine driving way out in the country, in rural southern Middle Tennessee, to a large open-air covered pavillion where thousands of people gather several times a year to sing gospel songs for hours. People who love to worship in song have been enjoying the experience for 40 years at the Diana Singing. Here's a report from the Brotherhood News web site.

Sunday, September 13th Notes

Prayer Requests: for Robb Williamson for healing for the neck injury he suffered recently and for Timothy K., a friend who is looking for clarity in a decision. Also prayers for peace and strength for the Adams family (with Kati's issues). Another card asks prayers for Craig Pitner that he might find a new job.

A Note of Thanks: to Kirk Garrison for the great job he does operating the Power Point presentation every week.

Purple Plums: Marjorie Easley had plums for anyone who wanted them Sunday. She has more at home. If anyone would like to come and get some, please call her at 466-3292.

Congregational Meeting: Thanks to everyone who attended the congregational meeting Sunday afternoon. It was well-attended; that shows your concern for the future of the congregation as we adjust to not having an eldership. A Men's Meeting will take place again this Wednesday night, September 16, during class time.

2nd Sunday of September

Sorry for the inactivity here the last month . . . .

Sunday, September 13 is the time for our monthly Potluck ... following services Sunday morning. Bring food for your family (and maybe a little extra for guests) and enjoy the time together.

The Men's class will interrupt our study of the Gospel of Mark to study about the eldership for a short time. That begins September 13 at 9:30 a.m. All men are encouraged to attend and participate in this study.

Following the meal Sunday, we will have a congregational meeting to discuss leadership issues. All members are encouraged to attend. There will be a follow-up Men's Meeting Wednesday night, September 16th.
