Sunday Notes - November 21
"I want to give thanks that the grocery union finally came to an agreement last night and I am not going on strike." --Cati Adams
"1) For our friends, Christi & Keith. Christi is in ICU. She had a rare pulmonary disease that is causing her arteries to tear and bleed. Her spirits are very low. Pray for her strength and healing. 2) For Melissa -- for safe travel home today from Olympia. 3) For Cati - she was in the ER yesterday for another allergy attrack and now is developing into asthma. Please pray for her healing." -- the Adams family
"Prayer requests from the Blunts: 1) Praise God for being so good and faithful to answer each of our prayers concerning our entire adoption process. 2) Prayers for safe travels for Liz and Tami as they fly here tomorrow evening. 3) Prayers for safe travels for Rodney, Karee, Madeline, and Sophia throughout our trip. We leave Wednesday and return December 10th. 4) Please pray that God is preparing Sophia's heart to not be too scared when we get her next Sunday. 5) Pray that our family can be a witness to others all along the way. 6) Please pray for Olivia, Jackson, and Elijah while we're gone. Although we are so excited about getting Sophia, this will be a hard 2 1/2 weeks on our family."
"Prayers for all who will be traveling this week. Prayers for all those looking for employment. Praise for the Blunts' good news and answered prayers. Prayers for our nation, our military, and our leaders."

Follow-up about Marge
Trish and I visited Marge Easley in Skagit Valley Hospital this afternoon. She said she had wanted to keep the news from church folks so no one would worry about her, but I think she was glad to know that people were praying for her. She fainted Monday, falling and giving both her eyes nice shiners. She also cut her nose, resulting in profuse bleeding apparently. The good news is that she was not seriously injured. She called 911 because she called her doctor and they told her that it was not safe for her to drive herself to the hospital after having fainted. She is being kept in the hospital while the doctors run tests trying to find the reason for her fainting. Perhaps she will be able to go home Wednesday, depending on what the tests show.
Marge Easley
We have learned that Marge Easley is in Skagit Valley Hospital in Mount Vernon after being hurt in a fall Monday. We should have updated information later in the afternoon, but wanted to make anyone who checks this blog aware of the need to remember Marge in our prayers.

Sunday Notes - November 7th
From the prayer requests turned in this morning --
"Please pray for Al Green's upcoming chemo treatments for cancer. He is Rentz Gullick's nephew-in-law."
"We have two specific prayer requests concerning our adoption: 1) That we will receive our travel approval this week. 2) That God is preparing Sophia's heart to bond with us quickly when we get her." Karee & Rodney Blunt (who are awaiting final approval on their adoption of a young child from China).
"Pray for Jon Hasenoehrl and the Hasenoehrl family."
We also received several cards expressing gratitude to Kirk Garrison for the fine job he does operating the Power Point presentation for services. Quoting from one, "Your silent service is very much appreciated and is an inspiration for us all."
Remember to invite at least five guests for our Homecoming next Sunday.
Will you participate in the Light into the Darkness campaign to read the New Testament through between now and the time we return to Daylight Savings Time next March 13? You need read only 15 chapters per week to accomplish that goal. It takes very little of your time; just a consistent commitment to spend five minutes or so each day reading the Bible.

Men's Retreat
Fourteen men from the Skagit Valley church spent Friday night and Saturday at our Men's Retreat. It was a great time of Bible study, discussion and fellowship. Thanks to everyone who participated and to the Hasenoehrls for making their lake house of Lake Whatcom available for us to use.
