Taking It to the Father - January 29



Our Skagit Valley Church of Christ Family:
  • Ann Dale - needs to continue to heal and get released to the nursing home (Update: Cathi posted this on the church Facebook group Thursday morning:  "I just got a phone call from the hospital. My Mom has taken a turn for the worst and they have had to re-intubate her. I'm on the way there now. Keep us in prayer today." )
  • Jim Wilkison has surgery scheduled for Monday, February 3rd.
  • Madeline Blunt and Sophia Blunt have whooping cough. Jackson and Elijah have some symptoms but it has not been confirmed.
  • Wanda Sell is improving and has been cleared by her doctor to drive again.
  • Cathi Adams still needs our prayers.
  • Rentz Gullick has praises on two counts -- 1) He received a good report from hisdoctor - no tumors and 2) He is a grandpa again - his daughter Ellen Evans gave birth this week to a baby girl, who has been named Emily Jean.
  • Pray for Karen & Ethan Hasenoehrl for safe travels and a good vacation in Hawaii.
Others Who Need Our Prayers:
  • Lydia asks our prayers for Kyla, a young lady with heart problems.
  • Jay asks us to remember in prayer his coworker Cristobal, who was seriously injured in a work accident. However, Jay also offers praises for good things happening in his work.
  • Prayers were requested for the Fugate family, whose father passed away.
  • John Williamson asks our prayers for his coworker, Oji, whose brother, father, and sister have all passed away recently. He is from Nigeria and will have to travel back there to be with his family for a short time.
  • Andy Adams asked prayed for Andrew who is traveling in Thailand on vacation. Please pray for his safety as he returns to his work in China.

  • Judy Hill is in the air on her way to Oklahoma for the funeral of her sister-in-law, Kim. Pray for her safe journey and for comfort for the Mackey family.
  • "My two oncologists are working on a treatment for my melanoma. The next step is a biopsy on one of the lymph nodes that tested positive in my PET scan. The operation is scheduled for Monday, February 3 in Anacortes."  Jim Wilkison
  • "Madeline Blunt and Mary Pendergrass are each home sick. Cathi Adams is also home with an ear infection and Ann Dale still needs prayers for complete recovery from her surgery."  ... Karee Blunt
  • "Prayer request for my Mom who is in a lot of pain from her burst eardrum.  Pray for my Grandma who still has a bad stomach bug and pneumonia.  They are implanting a stomach feeding tube this Monday to replace the nose tube.  Pray for me as I go job hunting. I'm hoping for a part time job at Josephine's Rehab Center for the elderly." ... Cati Adams

Announcements
  • We are looking for teacher sto help with Children's Bible Hour.  She Millissa or the sign-up sheet in the hallway.  This is a once-a-month commitment. Great opportunity to fellowship with our youth.
  • Ladies Retreat needs lots and lots of candy donations -- all shapes, colors, and sizes. Please give bags to Mindy or Millissa.  Cati also needs specific candy donations for a Ladies Retreat craft. If you can help her, please see Cati.
  • Our next session of children's classes starts February 23.  John Williamson will be teaching K-2nd, Trish Gaines 3rd-5th, and Helen Brown 6th and up.  We have an opening for preschool.  See Millissa Macomber.

Taking Our Needs to God - January 22


Prayers for our Skagit Valley Church of Christ family:

  • The Singleton family continues to be sick. Keep Lee, Mindy, and both girls in your prayers.
  • Jim Wilkison will have the melanoma surgically removed from his jaw in the near future. His PET scan showed a few "hot spots" in his lymph nodes, but they are optimistic this can be treated successfully.
  • Ann Dale is not progressing well and remains in ICU at Providence Hospital in Everett. Reports Thursday morning indicate that she has some pneumonia.
  • Continue to remember Cathi and Cati Adams in your prayers.
  • Also pray for Jeanie Young (safe travels) and for Audrey Hastings, Wanda Sell, and Marge Easley.  Sophia Blunt was home with a cough Wednesday night.
Prayers for Others Connected With Our Family:

  • Pray for Mya and Linzi, two young girls in Oregon who are fighting cancer. Mya and her family attend the church where Darren Williamson preaches.
  • Pray for Judy Hill and all the Mackey family. Judy's sister-in-law died yesterday.
  • Mary Pendergrass asked us to pray for two newborns in the nursery at SVH who are going through withdrawals from their mothers' drug use. One is seriously sick.
  • Prayers for the Fazio family as they continue to grieve.
  • Prayers for Jay Pace's co-worker, Cristobal, who had a serious on-the-job injury a few days ago.
  • Prayers for Karee Blunt's sister-in-law, for her pregnancy to go well. 
  • Continued prayers were asked for Kevin Cellucci, friend of the Williamsons, who remains seriously ill in Massachusetts.
  • Rentz' daughter, Ellen Evans, will have her baby on the 27th. She is now sick with a cold. Pray that will pass and that the birth will go well.
  • Pray for Jan that she will make good choices, be safe, and have wisdom.
  • Becky offered praise that her sister has given up smoking.  Pray that she will be able to keep her resolve and be successful in breaking this habit.
  • John Gaines' friend in Alabama asked that we remember in prayer the Wade family whose 3-year old son "Jon Jon" drowned in a neighbor's pond.

  • Please be praying for Mya Brandt and her parents. Mya is still suffering a lot of pain as a result of her chemotherapy treatments.
  • "My PET scan was postponed because of malfunction of the test equipment. It was rescheduled for Monday in Mount Vernon."  ...Jim Wilkison
  • "Please pray for Derek Barcalow.  He will be shipping out again at the end of the month."  (Derek returns to work on a fishing boat in Alaska. He expects to be at church next Sunday before he leaves sometime the following week.)
  • "Pray for Ann Dale for total recovery. She is disoriented and confused, but her body is healing from her surgery.  Cathi Adams is worn out mentally and physically. She is sick at home today. Cati needs prayers."  ...Andy

Taking Things to God - January 15 Prayer Requests



Ann Dale is doing much better, but there is still room for improvement as she tries to get fully awake after her surgery several days ago.
Cathi Adams for rest and calmness as she deals with concern for her mother and with her own health issues.
Andrew Adams for safe travel while he is in Thailand and as he returns to China.
Jim Wilkison for healing of the melanoma on his jaw. (The PET scan which had been scheduled for Friday has been postponed until Monday 1/20).
Becky asked our prayers for Kevin Cellucci who is not doing well ... fighting pneumonia and having to reset medication plan after a stay in the hospital... and for Erma Luxem who is scheduled for lung surgery on January 21.
Prayers were also requested for Wanda Sell and Marge Easley as they deal with health problems. (Wanda hopes to be cleared to resume driving, so her recuperation from her hip surgery continues to go well).
Lydia asked prayers for a friend who is dealing with pain, which is causing her to have problems with her work.
Andy Adams asked prayers for his knee that has been hurting and causing him problems at work.
Prayers were requested for the Woodwards for safe travel as they return from Steve's work assignment in Vancouver, WA.

Prayer Concerns - January 12



In our Skagit Valley church family:

  • Pray that Mindy and Piper get better -- both are home sick  (Lee)
  • Cathi's mom - Ann Dale - is still not recovering from the anesthesia. She will probably be discharged Monday or Tuesday to a rehab in Stanwood.  Andrew is traveling thru Thailand on vacation for two weeks. Pray for him and the others in the group and their safety.  Cati is still not feeling well. She will be seeing a specialist this week for her stomach (Adams family)
  • Allen Hill is sick. (Rentz)
  • Please pray that Joseph gets better and that no one else gets sick in our family. (John W.)
  • Please pray for Piper who is at home sick. Thanks.  (Faith Williamson)
  • Please pray for Joseph. He is not feeling good.  Thank you. (The Williamsons)
  • Please pray for safe travel for the Woodwards this week.  Continued prayers for Ann Dale and the Adams family.  Prayers for Mary Pendergrass as she's not feeling well this morning (Rodney)
  • Please lift up Vivian as she has been having much more discomfort than normal (Craig)
  • Doctors are still attempting to diagnose the melanoma on my cheek. I will have a PET scan run Friday. If it does not identify any additional cancer in my body, the melanoma will be excised. (Jim Wilkison)

  • Please keep Jewel Howard in your prayers. She is the daughter of a friend of mine, a single mom of two boys ages 4 and 15. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer this past November.  Also, I am flying to Lubbock, TX Wednesday to play with my granddaughter for a few days and then will fly on out to the Bahamas.  Please pray for a safe, smooth trip for me. OUR SKAGIT VALLEY FAMILY
  • Please remember Ann Dale as she recuperates from open heart surgery. She is expected to remain in Providence Hospital in North Everett for about five days.
  • Also pray for Cathi Adams to have rest and peace after a stressful day waiting at the hospital during her mom's surgery and initial time in ICU.
  • Pray for Jim Wilkison as he consults with oncologists Thursday and Friday about treatment for the melanoma discovered on his jaw.
  • Pray for Jim & Laura White as they recover from minor injuries suffered in an auto accident while on the way to church services last Sunday.
  • Pray for Trish Gaines (migraine) and Olivia Blunt (sore throat), who were not able to be present last night because of sickness.

OUR FRIENDS AND FAMILY CONNECTIONS 
  • Continue to remember in prayer the Fazio family as they deal with a loss in their family.
  • Piper and Paige Singleton ask us to pray for their grandpa to get over his cold and for Paige's teacher's son to feel better.
  • Lydia asks us to pray for her aunt Lisa to recover from the flu and for a girl who has had problems after having a tonsilectomy.
  • Please continue praying for Kevin Cellucci (friend of the Williamsons) who is now progressing toward recovering consciousness.
  • Becky asked us to pray for Mya (a little girl in Oregon - the church where Darren preaches - who is undergoing chemotherapy and facing up to six weeks in the hospital.)  Also for Linzi,  another little girl going through the same kind of treatment.

January 5, 2014 Prayer Notes

From Jim Wilkison:  The growth on my left jaw is melanoma. I have two appointments with oncologists this week for diagnosis and treatment.

From Faith Williamson: Pray for the Fazio and Cellucci family.

From Andy Adams:  Pray for Ann Dale (Cathi's mom) this week. She is having open heart surgery (valve replacement)  Wednesday in Everett at Providence Hospital.  Thanks.

Additional note:  Jim and Laura White and Candy Hobbs were involved in separate accidents at the same patch of icy highway between Anacortes and Burlington on the way to Sunday morning. Jim and Laura had some whiplash injuries.  Thanks to our Father in heaven that neither was seriously injured and prayers for a quick recovery for the Whites.
