Taking It to the Lord - February 23


Our Skagit Valley church family:

  • Jim Wilkison will have surgery for cancer removal from his jaw on Monday. He will be admitted at least overnight to the University of Washington Hospital in Seattle.
  • Please pray for Cathi Adams who is home sick with sinus infection, ear infection and some sort of flu bug. Also Cathi's mother Ann Dale is back in the hospital in Everett with pneumonia and fluid around her lungs. Cati is getting better, but still not sleeping well. Andy Adams also asks for prayers that he can be better physically and spiritually.
  • Rentz asks, "Pray for all of the congregation who are sick with colds, etc."
  • Karen Hasenoehrl is home sick today. 
  • Rentz Gullick is recovering from a cold.

Connections:

  • Holly Hiltz is having neck surgery Thursday. Prayers for no complications and a quick recovery.
  • Please pray for Amber Brown's grandmother Christine, who is in Swedish Hospital after having her 6th stroke that caused bleeding in her brain. She is feeling better and they have stopped the bleeding. She needs our prayers for continued healing. Thank you.
  • Karla asks, "Please pray for a friend's granddaughter, Morgan. She is 17 and is having her thyroid removed tomorrow due to cancer.  Thank you."

Taking It to the Lord - February 16


Our Skagit Valley Family:
  • From Cathi Adams: "Thankful that my Mom was able to be moved to the Josephine Care Center in Stanwood this week.  She is having a hard time settling in, pray that she will have peace in her mind.  Pray for Cati, who is not doing well. Thankful that Andrew has returned to China safely. That you for your prayers for my family."
  • Praise that Mindy (Singleton) is here. But keep praying for her foot to get better (from Paige).
  • Pray for Jim White to get over his sickness and for Judy Hill to get better with her back pain. (from Rentz).
  • Jim Wilkison is home suffering from a very sore lower back.  His cancer surgery is scheduled for Monday, February 24 at University of Washington Medical Center in Seattle. He expects to be hospitalized overnight.
  • Praise that Joe and Becky (Williamson) are safely at Adam & Paul's in the Bahamas.
  • Pray for Marge Easley

  • Please pray for my sister Lisa as she has had some health issues lately. (Karla W.)
  • Please add Drew Pettus (in Alabama) and Joyce Gilmore (in Tennessee) to your prayer list. Both are battling cancer. (John G.)
Announcements:
  • Service project needs:  Please save your old jeans.  Please bring stickers for kids, boxes of Band-aids, and safety pins for a service project that is going to Uganda.  We need it by next Sunday.  See Karla W. for more information.
  • New teachers next week!  Thank you to our current teachers -- Madeline, Candy, Karla, & Jody!  And welcome to next session's teachers -- John W., Trish, and Helen. We still need a preschool teacher. See Millissa if you're able to help with that need.

Wednesday Night Prayer Requests

Here are the prayer notes from Wednesday, February 12th:

  • Ann Dale has improved dramatically and is being released from the hospital. She will be moved to the Josephine Care Center in Stanwood on Thursday.
  • Pray for Andrew Adams, who has been in Thailand for several weeks during his vacation from teaching duties in China.  He has been away from Internet access and his family haven't heard from him.
  • Pray for Alma Jones, who is stressed over the move she is making this week to Joe and Becky's house in Burlington.  Pray that the move goes well for all concerned.
  • Pray for Mya and Lindzi, the little girls in Oregon who are undergoing cancer treatments.
  • Pray for Jim Wilkison, who will have a melanoma surgically removed soon.
  • Pray for the Pitners' health circumstances.
  • Pray for Mindy Singleton that she will heal well from her foot surgery and the complications she has had with that.

  • Mindy Singleton - recuperating from foot surgery
  • Jim Wilkison - has doctor's appointment Thursday to learn results from biopsy and discuss treatment.
  • Marge Easley  - has another cold, but otherwise doing ok.
  • Ann Dale  - still not doing well, but was able to walk with help on Wednesday
  • Wanda Sell - recovering from hip surgery. She hopes to be able to be at church Sunday.
  • Rentz Gullick - doctor's appointment Thursday to learn results of tests
  • Judy Hill  - will be traveling home from Oklahoma

  • Laura Walker ... lady in the Bahamas known by Adam & Paula Williamson; seriously ill

  • Please continue to remember Ann Dale in your prayers. She remains hospitalized in Everett.  Also remember Mindy Singleton as she recuperates from foot surgery.
  • From Jadis: "Please pray for Lonnie Humpal. He's having a lot of pain."
  • From Jim Wilkison:  "Tomorrow, biopsies will be conducted on two lymph nodes in my left armpit.  Based on the results of these biopsies a course of treatment for my melanoma will be worked out."
  • "Please pray for the LTC-ers to be excited and energized for LTC.  Also, please keep in mind Marge Easley."
  • Please remember Craig Pitner in your prayers. He was at services today, but was not feeling well.
  • "Please be praying for my Mom and our family as we go from transitioning her from her home to ours."  Becky
