The elders announced today that Jim White will become an elder of the Skagit Valley church on Sunday, September 7 if no one raises a scriptural objection to him serving.  If you have concerns or questions, please contact one of the present elders as soon as possible.

VBS NOTES OF THANKS:

• What a blessing it was to have VBS this weekend. I am so thankful for Melissa, Rodney, John and others who took the time to plan and run the VBS.  It was a lot of fun and very well-organized.
• Thank you Millissa for a good VBS and to all those who worked so hard to bring it together. We love you all.

• Remember Trevor as his house cleanup and restoring continues. 
• Trevor Hasenoehrl is grateful for all the help he has received with working on his house after the fire. On Saturday, August 23rd he is having a workday for the final cleaning before the restoration process begins. All the heavy hauling and shoveling is done!  Thank you.
• Praise God. We had a wonderful time with our grandchildren and son and daughter-in-law.  Please pray for Ray Merryman, a friend at the Bellevue church who just found out he has colon cancer.  ...Jeanie Young
• Praise to God to have a job I love and a job that I am able to talk about God and worship with them.  Pray that each day I am an encouragement and show God's love to them.  ...Cati Adams

• Monda Woodward had just gotten home from her knee procedure. All appears to have gone well.
• Nancy Pace is doing well as she recovers from surgery on Monday.
• Rentz Gullick is tired, but otherwise doing well as he rests up from his most recent round of chemo treatments.
• Charlotte Wheeler had hand surgery. Pray for peace as she cares for Dan.
• Karee and Olivia Blunt and Cathi Adams were home, not feeling well Wednesday.
• Pray for Karla's dad who is planning to travel here on September 10.
• Lydia asked us to pray that her piano lessons go well.
• Pray for Kent Brantly and others who have been infected with ebola.
• Pray for Kevin Cellucci for healing.
• Praise for our recent visitors and prayers for those who are not yet Christians to have an open mind and interest in learning the gospel.
• Praise that Mya, the young girl in Oregon who had battled cancer, is now home and has no signs of cancer.
• Prayers for Isaac Benjamin, a five-year-old in chemo.
