20/10 Vision

20/10 Vision in 2010 will be a recurring theme during this new year. Sunday morning's sermon introduces the theme by talking about the need we all have for 'better than average' spiritual vision. We'll talk about how to get that kind of perception. 10:30 a.m. at Skagit Valley Church of Christ, following Bible classes at 9:30.

Sunday night's sermon will be "Prayer and Faith." 6 p.m.

Condolences to Judy Hill

Judy sent out the following email Friday evening:

I just received the dreaded phone call. My brother passed from this world just before 9:30 this evening. I want to thank you all for your prayers, notes and love. My heart is breaking, but my Lord Jesus is my strength and comfort.
My love to you all,

January 1

One of my new year's resolutions is to do a better job posting updates to the Skagit Valley Church of Christ blog.

On January 1st, 2010, I wish for anyone reading this the best possible new year. God's blessings are great. May all of us be gracious recipients of those blessings throughout the coming year and beyond.

Please keep Judy Hill and her extended family in your prayers as Judy's brother, Dwayne Mackey is seriously ill in California. He appears to be nearing the end of his battle with cancer.

Rejoice that Matthew Barron was baptized into Christ after services this morning. Matthew lives in Sedro-Woolley and has been attending with us for several months. His directory information will be published in an upcoming bulletin.

Please remember to bring cards and gift items for Tami Beach's care package next Sunday. It needs to be mailed December 28. Tami is having a treatment for her tumor from January 4-28 at the Mayo Clinic.

Request from Cathi Adams: "My sister, Tracy, has been diagnosed with advanced ovarian cancer. She is in much pain and will have surgery this week."

From Karla Williamson: "Thank you for your prayers -- please continue as I need to handle stress and worry. Thanks, Karla."

Ireda Tedrick, a former member of the church here, passed away at age 98. Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lemley Funeral Chapel in Sedro-Woolley.

From Jeanie Young: "Praise God. We had a wonderful trip to the Bahamas. Please pray for our neighbor's son John Bamonte. He is trying to get home from Annapolis, MD for the holidays. The big snowstorn back east has caused him to be delayed today."
