- The Village of Hope mission trip will be planned for sometime in October. But final dates will have to be worked out with the Village depending on our group size and the available room in their guest house. Next week after the potluck, there will be a quick meeting for anyone who is interested. The meeting is to get a final count on all who are interested as well as to bring up any questions you may have. There is some information posted on the board in the hall, as well as a sign-up sheet. - Karla Williamson will be hosting a "Sole Hope" shoe party on Friday May 9th from 7-9 p.m. This will be to cut patterns from denim that will be shipped to Uganda in Africa, where it will be sewed into shoes for children there. Solid shoes are greatly needed to keep the children from getting parasites (called "jiggers") in their feet, which are very painful and can cause serious injury if not properly treated. Karla needs donations of denim (old jeans, skirts, etc.) that can be cut to the appropriate sizes. Everyone is welcome to participate. See Karla for more details.
